Some sensitivity and tenderness is normal after a crown or bridge preparation.  Warm salt water rinses a couple of times per day will help the tissue feel better faster.  Anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, acetaminophen or naproxen sodium work well for post-operative discomfort.
The temporary that was fabricated to cover the prepared surface was cemented with a temporary cement.  Avoid sticky foods or gum as they may pull the temporary off.  When flossing around the temporary, floss down towards the gumline, but instead of pulling the floss back up and out through the contact, slide the floss out so it does not pop the temporary off.  If the temporary does come off before your next appointment, please call our office and we will cement it back on for you
