Creating a Foundation for Beautiful Smiles

Preventive care includes good oral hygiene habits practiced at home as well as regular checkups and cleanings with a dentist. At Maple Grove Family Dental, Dr. White is committed to helping her patients achieve beautiful, healthy smiles. One way to accomplish this task is to ensure each individual schedule at least two appointments each year. Not only does this allow her to check for possible problems that might be developing, but it enables our team to offer a thorough cleaning and provide patient education. If you’re ready to let Dr. White take care of your smile, call us to schedule an appointment today.

What You Can Expect During Your Visit

Regular checkups and dental cleanings are much more than time spent reviewing your oral health. These appointments are a great opportunity for you to ask questions about your dental care and receive valuable tips on how to improve your brushing and flossing routine at home. Patient education is vitally important to maintaining good oral health, and it is something Dr. White and her team take pride in being able to provide to all patients.

When you arrive for your visit, you will be escorted back to a treatment room to have digital X-rays taken of your smile. Although these are not necessary each time, if it has been a while since your last visit, we will want to capture a full set of images during this visit. Digital X-rays allow us to see what is underneath the gum line and if any problems are forming in the roots of your teeth, your jawbone, or deep down in your gums.

Dr. White will then continue to perform a visual examination of your teeth, gums, throat, neck, and jaw to ensure there are no signs of oral cancer, gum disease, or tooth decay.

Before you leave, one of our highly skilled dental hygienists will remove any plaque and tartar buildup from around the gum line before flossing and polishing your teeth. This will leave you with a fully refreshed, healthy smile.

What Happens When Problems Are Found
